F.E.A.R. Extraction Point Goes Gold
Tim Hall the producer of F.E.A.R. Extraction Point announced literally a couple of hours ago that the expansion to F.E.A.R. has now been completed and will appear (or disappear buahaha) on store shelves on October 24th - just in time for Halloween! Here is what Mr. Hall had to say on his blog on IGN:
Well F.E.A.R. Extraction Point should be on store shelves on the 24th so run out and get yourself a copy!
We've been working really hard since the last blog, which was a little out of date, to get everything squared away and ready to go.
This gold process was relatively easy compared to other projects, I won't mention names but I've seen things – terrible terrible things - appearing as GM builds, so this was a fairly stress free ending. I still always think that there should be a parade or something at the end of a project. After everyone jumping through hoops for a year to get a project done it would be nice to sit back and see some pink poodles doing the same thing while eating cotton candy.
It's been a great experience working with team F.E.A.R. here in the Sierra office and with Timegate on this project. I'd like to sends thanks out to everyone who has worked so hard for the past year and we really hope you'll enjoy Extraction Point as much as we do.
For those of you who don't know the deal, Extraction Point is the expansion to the super scary action bonanza (of epic proportions?) F.E.A.R. that was released late last year - in fact on October 18th to be exact. Literally a year later we now have the expansion. New weapons such as a minigun, a laser carbine make a debut here, as well as new enemies and obviously many hours of new single (estimated at 6 to 8 hours) and multiplayer fun. Enemy AI has gotten a revamp in this expansion, the developers touted this a couple of times during development. Look for enemies to make better use of cover and actually retreat and set up ambushes now.
Enjoy the scary evil little girl everyone, I know I will. Oh wait, was that a spoiler? Oops.
