Today, FIFA 17 has joined EA Access on Xbox One and its PC counterpart Origin Access, giving football fans who have subscribed to the two services unrestricted access to the latest entry in the popular sports game franchise. The two subscriptions already offer a significant number of games on their respective platforms, with all of them available for download as long as the subscription is maintained.
The game is the first FIFA title to be powered by DICE's Frostbite engine, which has been used to develop many EA published games as of late, including Mass Effect: Andromeda. It also underpins the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II, slated for release in November.
Simultaneously, FIFA 17 introduces the franchise's first single-player campaign, which comes with added RPG elements. For those interested, the game's store page describes the new campaign as follows:
For the first time ever in FIFA, live your story on and off the pitch as the Premier League’s next rising star, Alex Hunter. Play alongside some of the best players on the planet, work with four authentic managers and take part in a brand new football experience, all while navigating the emotional highs and lows of The Journey.
EA Access and Origin Access membership is available for $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year for Xbox One and the Origin PC client respectively. Members also get other perks, such as free trials for upcoming games, and a 10% discount for EA games.
