Firefox, the open source web browser, has recently closed an online video competition designed to promote the product.
The competition, worth $5000 to the winner, involves creating a short video showing off the benefits of Firefox over other browsers. The Mozilla team is believed to be interested in using some of videos for TV spots; however, due to the amusing and innovative nature of some of the submissions, the videos have spread in a very 'viral' manner.
Last year, the foundation raised money to run an advert in the New York Times. However, whether such fund raising will be necessary again is unclear; rumours earlier in the year suggested the organization had an income of $72 million.
The videos, all 250+ of them, are available online now. We've picked one or two for your weekend viewing; enjoy!
