EA reveals its upcoming "re-imagined" game adaptation of the classic 1972 crime drama.
In an exclusive to GameSpot, Electronic Arts has divested the first details concerning its upcoming Godfather game which was revealed to be in development earlier this year. While many assumed that EA would play it straight for its first foray into M-rated game territory since its underappreciated 2001 first-person shooter, Clive Barker's Undying, they have another thing coming. As the title suggests, The Godfather 2072 will take place in the future.
"Not only is The Godfather the perfect brand to protect our company's interests as we delve into mature-themed gaming, but the futuristic setting gives our talented artists and developers plenty of legroom," said EA Chief Franchise Officer Werner Janssen. Added Janssen, "We don't think The Godfather, as a film, holds up very well to today's standards, so we figured we'd give it an EA-style shot in the arm."
