Playground Games' open-world racer Forza Horizon 4 has managed to gain over seven million players since its launch in October last year. This massive number comes from players on the Xbox One console family as well as Windows 10 PCs, for which the racer launched simultaneously as an Xbox Play Anywhere title with crossplay.
There were over two million players experiencing the studio's take on the United Kingdom just in the game's launch week, helping to keep Forza's crown as the "best-selling racing franchise of this console generation." Managing to gain another five million players in the three months that have followed is no easy feat.
Detailed information regarding how many of these players are utilizing the Xbox Game Pass to get their driving fix instead of outright purchasing the game was not shared, but the number could be in the millions. However, seeing how much Microsoft pushes its gaming subscription service, this could be exactly what the company is aiming for.
The game continues to get regular updates and its first expansion - Fortune Island - dropped just last month, bringing in a more perilous territory for players to try out their driving skills in.
Forza Horizon 4 is available for purchase via the Microsoft Store for Xbox One and Windows 10, while those subscribed to the Xbox Game Pass can also jump into the full game. Check out Neowin's own review of the title over here.
