Fox announced that it's working on a mobile game for the immensely popular TV series, Family Guy, that will come out in 2014. It's partnering with mobile game developer TinyCo, which just so happens to recently have received $20 million in funding.
The game will have its own story line, however much of the material will draw from the over 200 episodes of Family Guy that have aired on television. In fact, 2014 will mark the 15th anniversary of the show, so it'd be pretty good timing to release the game in celebration of that.
It will be set in the oh-so-familiar town of Quahog with all of the same characters. One might wonder whether Brian Griffin, the family pet, will make it into the game even though (spoiler alert) he was killed off from the show recently after starring in over 11 full seasons. Cleveland Brown could make a return as well since it's said that he'll be rejoining the cast of Family Guy after the Cleveland Show was cancelled.
This isn't Family Guy's first venture into the gaming space nor the app space. There's a standard Family Guy app available for iOS already but it's not a game, and a Road to the Multiverse Family Guy game exists but it's not for mobile. The official Family Guy mobile game will be available for iOS and Android — sorry Windows Phone users.
There's no word on pricing or availability just yet.
