Playing first person shooter games on consoles usually requires a game pad but there are still some old school PC gamers who can't bear to play FPS games with such a controller set up. They prefer playing games with a mouse and keyboard. Splitfish has offered Playstation 3 gamers a number of mouse style controller products over the years. This week the company finally released its first such controller for Microsoft's Xbox 360 console.
The FragFX Shark 360, first announced by Splitfish back in May, is now shipping to US customers with European gamers getting access on October 10. The wireless mouse, which still requires a wired Xbox 360 controller for authentication, has the four standard Xbox 360 buttons on the thumb pad of the mouse, allowing gamers easy access to things like weapon selection and more. It also comes with another controller that has the more familiar gamepad and analog stick and can be used for movement in games and other features. The result is that Xbox 360 gamers who play games while sitting and playing on a desk or table should be able to use the more precise mouse controller for first person shooter games and other Xbox 360 titles.
The FragFX Shark 360 requires two AA batteries (not included, unfortunately) but Splitfish claims that the battery life for the controller is over 50 hours. The mouse can also be used by PC and Mac gamers. Pricing for the FragFX Shark 360 is $89.99. You can check out a video demo of the controller in action, playing Call of Duty Black Ops, below.
