Free memory and Antivirus for new Windows XP Pro users

Today at the worldwide launch of the Windows® XP operating system in New York City, PNY, Microsoft. and Symantec announced that consumers can get a free memory upgrade and anti-virus software when they get Microsoft® Windows XP Professional.

Consumers who acquire Windows XP Professional will receive a PNY 256MB PC-133 SDRAM memory module free after mail-in rebate and Symantec's new Norton AntiVirus 2002 software from Best Buy Company Inc., CompUSA Inc., Office Depot Inc. and Staples Inc. retail stores. Valued at $129.98, the promotion is scheduled to run during select periods from Oct. 25, 2001, to Jan. 31, 2002.

"We are committed to being at the forefront of this new technology with our high-quality memory products. Consumers who acquire Windows XP Professional will boost the performance of this new powerhouse operating system with PNY's 256 MB memory and Symantec's new Norton AntiVirus 2002 software. The combination of PNY memory, Symantec software and Microsoft Windows XP Professional will provide users with a highly efficient solution for their computing needs."

Additionally, Kingston and McAfee are getting into the same game.

"This Kingston, Microsoft and McAfee great deal will ensure that users can take full advantage of the great features Windows XP has to offer."

The promotion will be offered from Oct. 25 through Dec. 31, 2001, with similar offers from Kingston and Microsoft available to customers in Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

  • Customers who obtain a copy of Microsoft Windows XP Professional and McAfee Internet Security Version 4.0 will get a free Kingston ValueRAM 256MB memory module with mail-in rebate.
  • Customers who acquire a copy of Microsoft Windows XP Professional will get a free Kingston ValueRAM 128MB memory module with mail-in rebate.
  • Special home offer: Customers who acquire a copy of Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and McAfee VirusScan 6.0 will get a free Kingston ValueRAM 128MB memory module with mail-in rebate.
