While Microsoft has made a number of in-house apps for Windows 8, the one that has received perhaps the most attention is Fresh Paint. Started as a Microsoft Research project, the app successfully gives kids and adults a way to simulate the creation of water-based artwork digitally. The Fresh Paint app has been used in more than one Windows 8 TV commercial in the past few months.
Now it appears that Microsoft is planning to bring Fresh Paint to Windows Phone 8 at some point. That's according to a job listing from Microsoft which mentions that the app will be coming to Microsoft's mobile OS. It also mentioned that an updated version of the app will be released for Windows Blue, the next major Windows 8 update that Microsoft is still not officially talking about.
The job description also reveals that the Fresh Paint team is looking to make more apps with the same engine that is used as the basis of Fresh Paint. It states, "Longer-term, the physics engine that underlies Fresh Paint will enable us to develop a family of creative apps from sketching and journaling to 3D experiences like clay and pottery."
