Normally when you play a multiplayer demo or beta test, like the one that's currently underway for Battlefield 3, you only get to check out a tiny portion of the game's full multiplayer content. Today Sony and developer Naughty Dog are giving gamers a way to experience the full multiplayer features and content for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, the third game in the acclaimed Playstation 3 action-adventure series.
As first revealed on the official Playstation blog site, the full multiplayer mode is available via a unique promotion with Subway restaurants. Starting today and running through the end of October, people who go to a Subway location and purchase a 30 ounce drink will also get a download code that can be used to download the full multiplayer mode for Uncharted 3 via the Playstation Network. You can check out a TV ad that will call attention to the Uncharted 3 multiplayer/Subway promotion below.
The only real limit in this special promotion is that the player's characters will only be able to reach level 35 in this pre-release version. The good news is that the player's progress will transfer over to the full version of Uncharted 3 when it is released on November 1. Sony's blog site also says that there will also be special Subway-themed hidden items in the multiplayer build that can be used to unlock even more of the game's content.
Sony is going all out to promote the release of Uncharted 3. It has already announced that select movie theaters in the US will feature the game being played on big movie screens, in 3D, a couple of weeks before the game ships to stores.
