Galactic Civilizations III's biggest expansion yet, Retribution, announced

Galactic Civilizations III is on track to receive another expansion soon, one that is described by Stardock as "its biggest expansion yet." Retribution will bring in the concluding chapter to the game's overall campaign, as well as new civilizations, features, and overhauled mechanics.

The Drath and Korath are the new major civilizations, which come with their own new ship parts and abilities. Artifacts and Hypergates are also new additions. The former can be found buried in planets across the galaxy and grants players special abilities, while the latter are gateways that can be constructed to let fleets cover massive distances quickly.

Cargo ships for delivering goods and help aid development of planets, as well as a major overhaul to the technology tree which "adds depth and sharpens the strategic choices in your research options" were also confirmed.

The Galactic Civilizations III: Retribution Expansion doesn’t have an exact release date yet but will release sometime in the first quarter of 2019. The previous expansion to the title, Intrigue, was announced around this time last year as well, before launching in April. We could be seeing a repeat of this release timeline for Retribution.

Those who are interested in adding the expansion to their wishlist can head over to its new Steam page over here.
