The still unannounced Galaxy S6 Edge which was recently spotted in Indian import logs will be a limited edition flagship device or so Asian Economies reports. The site, citing industry insiders, states that 45 million units of the Galaxy S6 flagship device will be sold in 2015 and 10 million of these will be the S6 Edge variant.
Although the device has not yet been announced, it is speculated that the device will debut at this year's CES and will have the following specifications and features:
- 5.5-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display
- 1.8 GHz Exynos 7420 chipset with octa-core processor
- 3 GB RAM
- 32 GB internal memory
- 20 MP rear camera/ 5 MP front shooter
Much like the Galaxy Note 4 Edge, which retained the internals of the original Galaxy Note 4 except for the curved display, the S6 Edge is expected to feature the same hardware specifications of the Galaxy S6.
The company may only be releasing a few high-end phones in 2015, after announcing their intention to scale back phone production significantly. 2014 certainly wasn't the best of years for Samsung, with sales down somewhat in the year and it is likely looking to regain lost ground. If the rumored specs do turn out to be true, the Samsung Galaxy S6 could be the phone to turn around the game for Samsung.
