Game Boy Player now available

Nintendo's latest GameCube accessory is now available in stores across North America.

Today sees the North American release of Nintendo's Game Boy Player for the GameCube. The accessory, which retails for around $49.99 and will be given away with new GameCube consoles for a limited time, connects to the underside of the GameCube and allows players to enjoy Game Boy games on their TV screen.

"For several years, the video game industry has been pushing forward to new technical frontiers, while at the same time celebrating classic hit games of the past," said Peter MacDougall, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Nintendo of America Inc. "The Game Boy Player fulfills both desires by instantly making your favorite Game Boy games playable on your television screen."
