GameCube Online This Fall

Nintendo officially announces its online gaming initiative for the GameCube – play PSO this fall.

Good news for Nintendo GameCube owners today, as Nintendo officially announced its plans for online multiplayer gaming via the GameCube. Nintendo said SEGA's Phantasy Star Online Episode I and II, set to release this fall, will be the first GameCube title enabled for online play.

Nintendo's network strategy is built on the philosophy that online will be most successful if the game play is extremely compelling and highly affordable. To match this philosophy, Nintendo's initiative consists of a flexible development program, favorable publisher business model, and support for all consumers whether the player connects by modem (narrowband) or broadband.
