Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members now have two more games waiting for them to claim for free as part of the October Games with Gold. The second wave comes bearing the promotion's announced titles Maid of Sker for Xbox One and Costume Quest for Xbox 360.
Thanks to backward compatibility, Costume Quest is also available for Xbox One console owners. Moreover, when the Xbox Series S|X comes around, all claimed games will also be playable on those next-gen devices.
Grab the two Halloween-themed freebies using the links listed below after logging into a Gold-activated Microsoft account:
Maid of Sker (Xbox One, October 16 - November 15)
Set in 1898 and inspired by the haunting Welsh tale of Elisabeth Williams, this is a story of a family empire driven by torture, slavery, piracy and a supernatural mystery that suffocates the grounds of the hotel.
Costume Quest (Xbox 360 and Xbox One)
Rediscover Halloween in this imaginative RPG from Tim Schafer's Double Fine Productions. Explore the monster-filled neighborhood of Auburn Pines, Autumn Haven Mall and Fall Valley Carnival.
Those who missed out on Slayaway Camp: Butcher's Cut from the previous Games with Gold wave still have plenty of time to claim it, as the game is slated to exit the promotion on October 31.
As always, keep in mind that Xbox 360 games claimed via Games with Gold promotions will continue being available even if the Gold subscription is discontinued. But, claimed Xbox One games are only playable while the account has an active subscription to Gold.
