It hasn't even been a day since Microsoft announced the free games Xbox console owners can grab for subscribing to Xbox Live Gold and already, the first wave of Games with Gold is here for claiming.
Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox 360 can now add Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon to their library. Meanwhile, Xbox One owners have Marooners available to them. They can also grab the Xbox 360 freebie, as the game is part of the Xbox One Backward Compatibility Program.
Here are the games' store links for adding them into a Gold activated account:
Marooners (Xbox One)
Play a wild mix of fun party games as the action regularly switches back and forth between games. Can you handle the switcheroo chaos? Join your friends both on the couch and online while sadistically laughing at their misfortune, or come back to haunt them if you die. Run, jump and slap your way to victory!
Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon (Xbox 360, Xbox One)
Thousands of giant insects and aliens once again ravage the earth, and only the Earth Defense Force can stop them. Destroy these monsters at all costs, even if it means turning entire city blocks into rubble!
As for ongoing Games with Gold promotions from April, Outcast - Second Contact will be available for Xbox One owners to claim until May 15, which will then be replaced by The Golf Club 2.
Only those with active Xbox Live Gold memberships can keep playing their claimed Games with Gold Xbox One games. However, claimed Xbox 360 titles will remain playable even when the subscription is inactive.
