It's another busy day for game news so let's get to all the announcements, shall we?
- Sony has announced it will be spending $20 million over the next three years to develop new downloadable games for its Playstation Network from first and third party developers.
- The space based MMO Black Prophecy is now out of its beta phase in North America and is now officially launched.
- Cities XL 2012, the latest game in the city simulation series, has been announced and will be released later this fall.
- Stronghold 3, the next game in the medieval themed RTS-castle sim series, will now be published by the newly established company 7Sixty.
- Publisher Webzen has filed its own lawsuit against developer Red 5 Studios over the upcoming free-to-play shooter Firefall alleging the developer broke its contract.
- Dark Horse Comics is giving away both of its Mass Effect mini series for free until 3 pm on Thursday.
- The old forums for the QuakeCon event got hit by a hacker attack; new message boards should launch soon.
- Speaking of QuakeCon, it will be the site of the first public showing of the upcoming shooter Tribes Ascend.
- The Nintendo 3DS will be the latest game console that will be able to play streaming videos from Netflix; the app will be available to download tomorrow.
- The sci-fi shooter Section 8 Prejudice will finally be released via download for Playstation 3 owners on July 26.
- Microsoft is apparently getting a second Xbox 360 game based on South Park but there's no word on a release date.
