Happy Independence Day/Fourth of July/ID4/whatever you wish to call it. We hope you got a lot of good food and celebrated the US's birthday. Oddly enough gaming news didn't take much of a holiday today. Here are just some of today's highlights:
- Capcom has apparently learned its lesson and won't make future games with just one undeletable save point like in Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D.
- The Steampunk Character Pack for Tripwire Interactive's shooter Killing Floor has been released on Steam for just $1.99.
- Codemasters is now hiring for a team to develop an all new racing game for the Dirt/GRID/Formula 1 publisher.
- Could Valve be finally be getting ready to show off DOTA 2 to the public for the first time at next month's Gamescom in Germany?
- An apparent crisis between the developers and players of the hit MMO space-based game EVE Online may be resolved.
- Since switching to its free-to-play business model, the first person shooter MMO Global Agenda has apparently added five times more players and revenues for the game are higher as well.
- Valve has released the second part of the Portal 2 game soundtrack for free at the game's official web site.
- Check out this video showing off iCEnhancer which adds a ton of graphical upgrades to the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV.
- Zoo Tycoon game developer Blue Fang Games has laid off a large portion of its team with rumors that the entire team has been dismissed.
- EA is holding a contest to find two spokesmodels in Europe to promote the upcoming racing action game Need For Speed The Runs.
