Another day of summer has come and gone and as expected gaming news is a bit slow as we get ready for yet another long holiday weekend next week. However we managed to find these items of interest:
- Valve's Team Fortress 2 web site has posted up more info on tomorrow's big content update with new weapons and items for the Scout class and the Soldier class.
- Speaking of Valve, its co-founder Gabe Newell has said that so far its puzzle shooter Portal 2 has sold 3 million copies.
- Playstation Plus subscribers will get access to the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta on June 28.
- id Software's John Carmack has some words about today's 15th anniversary of the release of Quake.
- The sci-fi MMO EVE Online has launched its latest major free update, version 1.0 of Incarna, that lets players have a "Captain's Quarters" on their ships.
- Sony has announced that the latest firmware update for the Playstation 3, 3.66, will be released "soon".
- More info on Diablo III is scheduled to be released on August 1 thanks to an upcoming press event.
- Old World Blues, the third DLC pack for Fallout New Vegas, is scheduled to be released on July 19.
- EA will release FIFA 12, the next game in their mega-selling pro soccer game series, on September 27 in the US.
- Blizzard will release the MMO expansion pack World of Warcraft Cataclysm in China on July 12.
- S2 Games has offered up an update on this week's server downtime for their action-RTS game Heroes of Newerth.
- Motorstorm Apocalypse owners got a free DLC pack today that adds a new track, The Rock.
