- There is a bit of an uproar among players in the MMO game EVE Online dealing with how the game's developer CCP Games is handling in-game items sold by microtransactions.
- Team Fortress 2 has jumped up to being the most played game on Steam since going free-to-play on Thursday.
- The upcoming and long awaited MMO Guild Wars 2 will have something different whenever it launches; underwater based combat.
- The upcoming first person shooter Battlefield 3 will apparently have 10 maps designed specifically for two player co-op gameplay.
- The first major DLC release for the recently first person shooter Brink will be out by early July. When it does come out it will be free to download but only for its first two weeks.
- The open beta test for the free-to-play revival of the Hellgate game franchise will go live in the US on June 30.
- Rumors are that the Playstation 3 might get a price cut sometime in August.
- Sony has released the open world action game sequel Infamous 2 via download on its Playstation Network just two weeks after the retail version shipped to stores.
- World of Warcraft players can now offer a friend a free download of the full MMO game which they can play for 30 days.
- Ignition Entertainment has laid off a console development team in its Austin, Texas offices.
- Brace yourself: Ubisoft has announced plans to release the dance-themed game The Black Eyed Peas Experience for the Wii and the Xbox 360's Kinect later this year.
