It's been a very busy week for gaming but that's nothing compared to next week. Neowin.net's E3 2011 offically starts on Saturday as we head to Los Angeles to cover all of the big and small announcements. But before we get on a plane let's look over what was revealed today:
- Electronic Arts has announced The Sims 3 Pets (shown above) for consoles and PC/Mac where you play as owners of cats and/or dogs.
- Yes, hell is getting colder; a playable demo of Duke Nukem Forever has been released for people who have pre-ordered the first person shooter.
- XCOM, the upcoming first person shooter from 2K Games that's (sort of) a revival of the X-Com franchise, is due for release on March 6, 2012.
- Kalypso Media has announced a sequel to Dungeons titled Dungeons: The Dark Lord. The game does not yet have a release date.
- A new action game based on J.J. Abrams reboot of the Star Trek franchise has been announced for a summer 2012 release date.
- The upcoming zombie action game Dead Island will give a $10 DLC pack for free for people who pre-order the game.
- The Call of Duty Black Ops Escalation DLC map pack will finally be released for the PS3 on June 10.
- Payday: The Heist, an upcoming first person shooter about robbing banks, has been announced as a PS3 exclusive downloadable game.
- The fifth and final episode of Telltale's Back to the Future game will come out for the PC on June 23 and features Michael J. Fox as a guest voice.
- Perfect World Entertainment has picked up the publishing rights to Blacklight Retribution, the upcoming free-to-play shooter from developer Zombie Studios.
