It's Monday but for many of you reading this it will be a short week thanks to the US Thankgiving Day holiday. But there are some interesting game news tidbits to tide you over today:
Max Payne 3 Collector's Edition announced - Rockstar Games is now taking pre-orders for this big $100 Collector's Edition of the upcoming third person action game. It will include the game, a 10 inch tall Max Payne statue, a bullet shaped keychain, the game's official soundtrack and some exclusive in-game character models and weapons.
New Nintendo 3DS bundles on Thanksgiving Day - Nintendo will release two new 3DS bundles on Thursday. One will have a Flame Red 3DS console with a free copy of Super Mario 3D Land. The other will have a Cosmo Black Nintendo 3DS console with the Hyrule emblem and gold-colored embellishments and a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. Both will be priced at $199.
New Square Enix Montreal studio working on Hitman game - Square Enix will open a new game development studio in Montreal in 2012 which will have up to 150 employees. It will be working on an all-new game in the Hitman action game franchise.
Vodafone selected as "preferred" 3G provider for PS Vita in Europe - The wireless carrier will provide a SIM card inside the PS Vita WiFi/3G model when it launches in Europe in early 2012. It will also be used as the wireless provider for Sony's portable console for Australia and New Zealand.
DC Universe Online sees major revenue gains - The super hero MMO, which switched to a free-to-play model earlier this month, has seen daily revenues jump up 700 percent since the switch, according to Sony Online CEO John Smedley.
Battlefield Heroes adds new gameplay mode - The free-to-play third person shooter from Electronic Arts added a new Capture the Flag gameplay mode today for its players.
