The past week in game news was, as usual at this time of year, a busy one. Let's look back on what transpired in the last seven days:
- The first person shooter Afterfall: Insanity is now scheduled for release on the PC sometime in November.
- Shank 2, a sequel to 2010's hit side-scrolling action game from developer Klei Entertainment, has been announced and will be released in early 2012.
- The PC system requirements for the upcoming Capcom zombie action game Dead Rising 2: Off The Record have been announced.
- A planned fan-created game to recreate Duke Nukem 3D in Unreal Engine 3 has been put on hold.
- NCsoft has officially launched City of Heroes Freedom, the free-to-play revamp of the long running MMO game.
- A movie version of the hit zombie action game Dead Island is now in development at Lionsgate.
- Signal Ops, an upcoming and unique looking first person shooter, has been announced by developer Space Bullets Dynamics Corporation.
- EA has announced that the recently revealed first person shooter Syndicate will be released in February 2012.
- The PC version of Rockstar's action-adventure game LA Noire will be released on November 8.
- The new Humble Frozen Synapse Bundle deal has now added the adventure game Trauma to the mix.
- It looks like news of that long awaited Mechwarrior reboot should be announced in November.
- I Am Alive, Ubisoft's action-adventure game that was first announced back in 2008, will finally be released via Xbox 360 and PS3 download "this winter".
- The classic Double Fine game Psychonaunts will finally be getting a Mac port.
- Minecraft's development team at Mojang have announced that the dispute with Bethesda Softworks over the title of their next game Scrolls will indeed be going to court.
