I know what you're thinking. We're thinking it to. But we've got nothing else to write about.
Microsoft, via Todd Bishop's great weblog, have released a copy of the meal plan for the up-coming visit of President Hu Jintao of China. Bill Gates will be hosting Hu in his Seattle house next week as part of the premier's US visit. whilst we don't know exactly what they'll be talking about, but we do know what they're eating.
First Course: Smoked guinea fowl salad with hazelnuts, spring radish and Granny Smith apples.
Entree, two options:
1) Fillet of beef with Walla Walla onions, local asparagus, celeriac puree and chervil glace paired with a 2002 Leonetti Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
2) Alaskan halibut and spot prawns with spring vegetables, fingerling potatoes, and smoked tomato infused olive oil paired with a 2003 Chateau St. Michelle Chardonnay, Canoe Ridge Estate
Dessert: Rhubarb brown butter almond cake
Yummy. In a similar fashion to releasing the odd protester from jail prior to a US presidential visit to China, a Chinese PC maker called Founder Technology Group recently announced it would be buying $250 million worth of Windows licenses over the next three years. It's believed the announcement is intended to make clear China's (new found) respect for IP, and concern about software piracy.
