Following what The Coalition called Gears of War 4's biggest update yet last month, the studio has now detailed the July update for the game, which dropped today. The new update brings two new maps in the form of Raven Down and Reclaimed Windflare.
Gears of War 1 fans will be familiar with Raven Down, leaning heavily on close quarter combat centered around a crashed King Raven. Next, the Reclaimed map in Gears of War 4 is getting altered with some hazardous Windflares being added to it from the campaign. This map variant will periodically send some powerful storms at players in both Versus and Horde modes, with winds that alter projectile paths and some deadly lightning bolts.
Both of the new maps are now available for season pass holders in the Developer Playlist, with regular players receiving access to them in public matchmaking on July 12.
Meanwhile, there is some more content heading to the game later this month in the form of Gear Packs, which carry Superstar Cole and Civilian Anya characters for use in Horde and Versus modes.
A couple of new events are planned for July as well, including a new Horde event variant and a 24/7 Raven Down playlist spanning across multiple game modes, celebrating the map's release.
