The turn-based spin-off for the Gears of War series, Gears Tactics, was released for PC in April. A launch date of November 10 was set for the console release, coinciding with the global launch of Microsoft's new Xbox Series X|S. Last month, some new enhancements for the title that are set to arrive on the same day were unveiled as well - including Gears of War's signature companion, Jack, as a playable character.
Today, Microsoft and The Coalition have announced that Gears Tactics for Xbox Consoles has gone gold ahead of its imminent launch, which means that the final game disc has been released to manufacturing. In commemoration of this milestone, new achievements have also been revealed.
The updated achievement list now includes 11 new achievements, all part of the upcoming 'Jacked' game mode. A total of 400 Gamerscore will be earnable through these, with the final and most rewarding achievement offering 100 points upon completion of the other 10. Combined with current achievements, the total obtainable Gamerscore for the game will be pushed up to 1400.
Those who pre-order the title or play it through their Xbox Game Pass subscription before December 4 will receive the Thrashball Cole Character Pack, featuring Augustus Cole as a recruit for the team, and a rare abilities-laden Thrashball Armor Set. The ability to pre-download the console release is now live and the game can be pre-ordered through the Microsoft Store here.
