Action RPG title Genshin Impact has been announced for Sony's next-gen console. So far, the open-world free-to-play game has been available on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Windows, iOS and Android platforms. Although the PS4 version is compatible with the PS5, it is not a native PS5 game.
The JRPG title's publisher and developer miHoYo also dropped a PS5 launch trailer for the new edition of Genshin Impact. You can see it down below:
The Shanghai-based game maker has announced that the next-gen version of the 2020 release will feature 4K resolution, enhanced visuals and improved game performance. A 'richer and more immersive' gaming experience has also been promised in the press release.
Forrest Liu, president of miHoYo, commented on the upcoming next-gen launch:
"The PlayStation 5 is an ideal platform to enhance the vast open world featuring in Genshin Impact, allowing the team to incorporate more thoughts and ideas into the game, both now and in the future. That's why we've been working to bring the native PlayStation®5 version of the game to our players as soon as we could."
As for a release date, so far no concrete launch date has been revealed yet. All we know is that the PS5 variant will be "coming soon".
