The Dell XPS 13 has been a real head turner since its redesign in 2015. While we are still several months away from CES 2018, where a variety of new technology debuts, it appears that the firm has given an outlet an early sneak peek at its upcoming laptop.
TechRadar was able to get an early preview while visiting Dell's headquarters in Texas. As you can see from the image above, the design is similar to what we have seen the past couple of years, offering a sleek design with minimal bezels across three sides of the display. The 2018 model will not arrive with full-size USB ports but will swap over to three USB Type-C ports. For those that rely on SD card support, sadly this has been removed and replaced with the smaller microSD card reader. The model will come in a new color this year dubbed as Alpine White.
In order to keep the aesthetics on the Alpine White model as consistent as possible, Dell developed a new woven material for the palm rest area that looks similar to carbon fiber but is fact something entirely custom. This should provide users with a firm but soft support system for their wrists when in use. This appears to be a small teaser for what's to come as Dell is preparing to properly announce its new XPS 13 at CES 2018 in January.
