Hello all, it's once again that time, the time for FREE STUFF!
This time around, we're giving away a copy of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's new book, Hit Refresh: The Quest to Rediscover Microsoft's Soul and Imagine a Better Future for Everyone.
When Nadella took over Microsoft, the company had become stagnant. The new CEO had to search for the company's "soul", or what made the firm great in the first place. The book describes how founders Paul Allen and Bill Gates had the dream of a computer on every desk, and that goal was achieved.
It's also a tale of empathy, which is a major theme throughout the book. It starts out with a story about how when Nadella was originally hired, he was asked what he would do if he saw a baby crying in the street. When Nadella said that he'd call 9-1-1, he was told that he needed some empathy, because when you see a baby crying in the street, you pick up the baby.
It's a very interesting read for any Microsoft fan that's interested in what's going on inside of the company, and the transitional period of when Steve Ballmer passed the torch on to Satya Nadella.
Make sure to check out our review of the book!
