Google promised a lot of unique features for its Stadia cloud gaming service, but as we got closer to launch, we learned that a lot of those features wouldn't be available on day one. Slowly, the company has been adding some of those features, such as Stream Connect, which debuted with the launch of Ghost Recon: Breakpoint this week.
Today, the company announced that it has also enabled another feature that many gamers appreciate: achievements. As the company clarified prior to launch, if you've been playing on Stadia, you've already been able to unlock achievements, but you just didn't have a way to see them. Now, you can do just that.
It's not as simple as you might expect it to be, though. For now, the full list of achievements is only available on the web, and Google didn't have anything to share regarding availability on the mobile app. The good news is you'll also get notifications when you earn an achievement, and that will work on PCs as well on the Chromecast Ultra.
Speaking of the Chromecast Ultra, earlier this week, Google rolled out an update to existing devices, so you can now use other Chromecast Ultras to play on your TV, not just the one that shipped with the Founders Edition.
