We have yet to see a proper leak of LG's next handset, the G6, but if official statements and clues deployed by the company are any indication - they are clearly aiming to take a part of Samsung's market share. While there have been various rumors over the past couple months, a new one states that LG will be working with Google to bring its Assistant to its next handset.
Google Assistant made its debut at an event in October and is currently only found on the Pixel and Pixel XL. Assistant tries to offer a more natural interaction and allows users to carry a conversation while making inquiries to Google. If true, this could give LG a fighting chance, considering that its competitor Samsung is poised to introduce its own AI assistant, Bixby, with the Galaxy S8.
LG is expected to announce its latest handset at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The event is scheduled for February 26 with a possible rollout of the handset a couple weeks later.
