About a year ago, Google announced the Home Mini smart speaker in three color options including Coral, Chalk, and Charcoal. Since then, the Mountain View-based search giant hasn't churned out a new color option for the Home Mini, until now. Google unveiled today an aqua color variant of the smart speaker.
Isabelle Olson, Director of Design for Home, Wearables and CMF at Google, wrote in a blog post that the aqua model is still made from the same fabric material used for the original color options. It also incorporates the new features and enhancements recently added to the smart speaker such as the ability to speak two languages at the same time and broadcast messages for everyone in the household.
The Home Mini aqua color will be available for purchase starting on October 29 from the Google Store and Walmart online for $49, the same price as the original version.
The announcement comes a week before Google is set to host simultaneous events in the U.S. and Europe, where the company is expected to launch the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL as well as a host of other hardware products.
