Music streaming services offer a handy and cheap alternative to buying CDs, but they come with a price tag attached that can add up quickly if all of your family members want to use the service.
Luckily for us, services like Apple Music offer a family account that allows you to share your account with up to six family members. Today we can add another name to the list of services that provide this feature: Google Music, with its new Family Plan. This new plan will be available for $14.99, which puts it at the same price point as Apple Music.
Google Play Music Family Plan has a big advantage over its competitors, as subscribing to the service also gets you a family subscription to YouTube Red, which offers an ad-free experience on YouTube as well as access to exclusive content.
This new plan offers the same options as an individual account offers, including ad-free and unlimited streaming of more than 35 million songs. It's also possible for all the users on the package to stream simultaneously to any devices they own.
Google Play Music Family Plan will become available for signups in the coming days for Android devices in the U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada, France and Germany, with more countries coming soon. Once signed up you can listen to the service on Android and iOS devices as well as using the Google Play Music website.
