With Google's Pixel 5a handset coming soon, it seems like the company also has a plan for another set of truly wireless earbuds called the Pixel Buds A. And if you're on the Google Nest mailing list, then you got a sneak peak at them earlier today, as spotted by 9to5Google. It would seem that the Mountain View firm was just looking to put together a group photo of its in-house devices, but it jumped the gun on the new one.
It comes in a new dark green color, which is darker than the current Quite Mint. In fact, it's probably closer to the Sorta Sage color on the Pixel 5.
There are a couple of things that this means. With a Pixel Buds A product coming, it means that Google is lowering the barrier of entry for its truly wireless earbuds. Right now, Pixel Buds cost $179, $20 more than the starting price of Apple's AirPods. But the A-series, as we've seen from the Pixel 3a and Pixel 4a, is about providing that premium experience while on a budget.
The other thing that it means is that it's coming soon, and in fact, since it's probably launching alongside the Pixel 5a, that's probably coming soon as well. Remember, since there are no in-person events right now, you can't expect that journalists will start tweeting about receiving an invitation. Hopefully, we'll find out more soon.
