Nexus 5 has been part of multiple rumors and speculation for a really long time but there is no official word about its release from Google yet. Now, a tipster for MobileSyrup has claimed that the Android 4.4 "KitKat" based smartphone will be available from the Google Play Store starting October 31. A report about the same timeline was published earlier this month, which would make this a strong possibility.
Google's Nexus 5 has been getting the rumor mill treatment for well over six months revealing the manufacturing company, hardware specifications, operating system version, features and more recently the pricing. It even made a brief appearance on the Google Play Store recently, at a price of $349 for the 16GB version which is close to what was previously rumored.
The phone is expected to launch on all Canadian carriers including Rogers, Bell, TELUS, Koodo and Virgin starting November 8th. A press render of the TELUS version of the Nexus 5 had leaked to the web recently which confirms at least one of those carriers.
Official announcement from Google should be expected any day now as we are approaching the alleged date.
