A new Google Photos app update is bringing a new look to the Memories feature in the app and a few new features for printing the pictures served in that section. Version 4.45 of the app is now rolling out to Android users, bringing some features that were spotted in an APK teardown of the app (via XDADevelopers).
Memories is getting a new look that moves the menu and the share icons to the bottom of the screen. The menu now also offers users with options to either ‘Order photo prints’ or ‘Order canvas print’ right from the image, in addition to the already present options to view settings and all photos from that day. Interestingly, the APK teardown of this version hints at more features likely coming to Memories.

The options that were spotted include the ability to look at photos under the ‘previous years’, ‘recent highlights’ timelines and the ability to select the type of memories from the settings. Another addition that is likely being tested, which was spotted in the teardown, is the inclusion of premium editing features for Google One customers. It is not clear what these premium editing capabilities will include but will be a nifty addition to subscribers of the service.
Not all features spotted in an app’s code see the light of the day. It is also possible that the added capabilities were planned for version 4.45 of the app and were canceled later on.
