Google Photos may soon allow you to set your account profile picture directly from the app, according to Jane Wong, an app researcher famous for uncovering features before they launch. A new "Set Profile Picture" option appears when you search for your name in the Photos app. An alternative way to access this would be heading over to albums in the app, selecting "People" in the top left, and then clicking on your name. However, if you search for other users, the "Order Book" button appears instead.
Admittedly, changing your Google account picture isn't that difficult right now. Any Google website permits you to change your profile picture from the account drop-down, and there's also an option to select photos that you've uploaded to Google Photos. The "Your Information" section, which is present in account settings, also lets you change your profile picture.

With this capability added, changing profile pictures would become more convenient for some, though with the availability of options already present, it is likely others would continue to utilize those.
