In a strange move, Google has done away with the notification that shows up after apps are updated from the Play Store. Previously, whenever the Play Store updated a bunch of apps, it would show a notification for the same in the notification panel.
However, over the last few days, many users complained that they were not getting any notification for app updates being installed. The feature then suddenly started working for many before the issue popped up again. A Google spokesperson then reached out to Android Police to confirm that the Play Store will no longer show notifications for apps being updated.
Users are also not going to get any notification when they manually update apps from the Play Store. While they will get a notification when an app update is being installed, it will automatically disappear after the installation.
It looks like Google realized that most users simply swipe away such notifications and in a bid to reduce notification spam, the company has done away with it entirely. If you are someone who likes to keep a tab on app updates and what changes they bring, you will now have to open the Play Store periodically to check for them. Alternatively, you can also turn off auto-updates in the Play Store and manually update apps from time to time to keep track of their changes and improvements.
