Google has uploaded a video to their Youtube channel showcasing their latest treat in their usual fashion, and this time it's Ice Cream Sandwich.
The company has put a delicious new treat up on their front lawn -- as they did with gingerbread, eclair and other updates previously -- meaning the announcement of the mouth watering new bits is very close. A video showing the team putting the giant mascot up excitedly on the front lawn of their Mountain View, California campus has been uploaded to the Android developers channel on Youtube.
The description on the video simply states that the company will unveil their new OS on 19/10/11 at 10AM Hong Kong Time (18th October, 10PM EST, 7PM PST) over on their YouTube channel live for all. Ice Cream Sandwich is intended to make Android run "anywhere" which will bring Android based tablets and phones onto the same OS version, as well as making the code open source again.
A leaked video last month showed off the new interface of Android 4.0, which retains Honeycomb-esque features but features a overhaul of the graphics. It's not yet clear what devices the new version will run on, however it's anticipated Google will unveil the Nexus Prime at the event next week.
Even though Ice Cream Sandwich is a mouthful to say quickly (and repetitively), hopefully it'll be packed full of features that we haven't seen before. There's not long to wait now, we're excited. You should be too.
