Back in March, Google introduced its Stadia gaming platform which will aim to offer high-quality games regardless of the type of device you are using to access the content. While it was an introduction, it didn't offer much in terms of pricing and launch information, but the firm did promise to reveal the details sometime during the summer. It looks like Google is ready to get things started early, as it has now announced that it will hold an event this week.
Stadia Connect will take place a week prior to one of gaming's largest conventions, E3. Google plans to give details about the games that will be available on the platform, pricing, and other relevant launch information.
Stadia promises to let users play games using different devices like desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Naturally, Google will also incorporate some of its other services into the platform, like watching a video of a supported game on YouTube and in a matter of seconds being able to jump right in and play that same game. As far as quality goes, Stadia is aiming to offer 4K HDR at 60 frames per second.
Google will stream the event, which can be seen on the Stadia YouTube page or you can watch it by revisiting this page on June 6 at 9am PT.
