Popular grammar checking tool Grammarly is rolling out a helpful new feature to its mobile application, the Grammarly Keyboard. Users of the Grammarly Keyboard will now be able to switch on an option to recommend synonyms for words while typing. The feature is designed to enhance Grammarly Keyboard users' vocabulary by suggesting complex synonyms, enabling users to discover new words.
While some might find this extremely helpful, others might find it annoying - which is why the feature is completely optional. Users can toggle the option in the app settings and turn it on or off as they wish.
Grammarly described its new tool in the latest update:
"Multiple options for alternative words will appear along the top of your keyboard. If you’d like to see synonyms for a word you typed earlier, just move your cursor and the suggestions will change accordingly. To turn the Grammarly Keyboard’s synonym feature on and off, open up Grammarly’s companion app on your phone. Navigate to Grammarly Settings and tap the switch next to Synonyms."
For now, this new writing-enhancing feature is only available Grammarly's mobile app, the Grammarly Keyboard, which is available on both Android and iOS.
