GRIP: Combat Racing is set to receive the first batch of additional content next month, and it will include four new tracks as well as new team modes. Today, Wired Productions shared a teaser video of the upcoming tracks to be added in March.
The new tracks shown in the video have a variety of different scenarios, covering cityscapes, a more nature-oriented track with a fall/autumn theme, and a rocky, rugged environment. Of course, all the tracks feature the crazy twists and turns that fit the style of GRIP and Rollcage.
Absent from today's teaser are the new team modes, and while we don't know much about them, we can get an idea of what they might be like. As we noted in our review, they're already visible in the game, they just can't be selected yet. They're called "Time Bomb" and "Steal the Stash", and both seem to be part of the arena-based modes, not actual racing.
Our review for GRIP: Combat Racing mentioned a few flaws, including software bugs, many of which were addressed with a major update released in January, and a relatively small offering in terms of content. This will be improved in the upcoming update, too, and there's likely to be more to come over time. If you haven't yet, you can get the game on Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, where it is currently on sale for $31.99 instead of $39.99. It's also free on Microsoft's console if you have Xbox Game Pass.
