Rockstar have just announced the second piece of downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto 4 tonight, "The Ballad of Gay Tony." Very little is known about the new content, but Rockstar have confirmed it will release this fall for 1600 Microsoft points ($20/£13.60), exclusively on the Xbox 360.
Rockstar also announced the content will release on disk at retail stores, along with the previous episode "The Lost & Damned" on one disk, which released earlier this year.
The Ballad of Gay Tony also requires an Xbox Live membership (silver or gold), presumably to combat piracy, in much the same way Rock Band Song Pack disks and Rock Band AC/DC do.
Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar gave a brief synopsis of what gamers can expect from the new episode:
"Liberty City is the most vibrant game world we've created yet. The episodic structure has allowed us to interweave stories, gameplay and atmosphere in a whole new way. The team at Rockstar North have yet again surpassed themselves, and made something that is both epic and very innovative. This episode's focus on high-end night life contrasts with the biker gangs portrayed in The Lost and Damned, whilst giving us a lot of new gameplay possibilities."Players will take on the role as Luis Lopez, a part time gangster and full time assistant to nightclub owner Tony Prince (Gay Tony). Players will struggle with rival families and friends, all with the introduction of more guns, glitz and grime.
