Guerrilla Games announced today that it is bringing its hit action RPG Horizon Zero Dawn to PC, ending the award-winning title's run as a PlayStation exclusive. The game will be releasing on Steam sometime this summer.
The PC version will ship as the complete edition, bringing along the Frozen Wilds expansion alongside the base game. For those who are in the dark regarding the game, here's how the store page describes it:
Experience Aloy’s entire legendary quest to unravel the mysteries of a world ruled by deadly Machines. An outcast from her tribe, the young hunter fights to uncover her past, discover her destiny… and stop a catastrophic threat to the future. Unleash devastating, tactical attacks against unique Machines and rival tribes as you explore an open world teeming with wildlife and danger.
In an interview posted on PlayStation Blog, PlayStation Worldwide Studios head Hermen Hulst elaborated on the decision to bring PlayStation games over to PC, saying "I think it’s important that we stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show people maybe what they’ve been missing out on."
Hulst added that this won't mean all PlayStation exclusives will hit PC - especially not on day one - and there currently aren't any plans to announce more games. However, he didn't dismiss the idea completely for future moves like this either.
Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition Steam store page is already up and running for those who are keen on wishlisting it.
