With August underway, Microsoft is already preparing the latest waves of Xbox Game Pass arrivals for the first half of the month. The indie-heavy two weeks bring in massive hits such as Hades, Art of Rally, Curse of the Dead Gods and more to the subscription service.
EA is also contributing a bunch of games this week via EA Play, with the original Skate and the series' third entry being introduced soon, and more coming later.
Here are the announced games:
- Curse of the Dead Gods (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 5
- Dodgeball Academia (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 5
- Katamari Damacy Reroll (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 5
- Lumines Remastered (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 5
- Skate (Console) EA Play – August 5

Codemasters racing fans have even more content heading their way next week thanks to the EA acquisition that recently went through. The EA Play subscription on Xbox consoles, and by extension Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, is expanding to include Dirt 4, Dirt Rally, Dirt Rally 2.0, F1 2020, and Grid on August 10.
Keep in mind Microsoft recently revealed Forza Motorsport 7 is reaching end of life status soon and will be pulled from stores in September. This removal will also affect Xbox Game Pass subscriptions. In the meantime, here are the games leaving the services later this month:
- Leaving August 8
- Grand Theft Auto V (Cloud and Console)
- Leaving August 15
- Ape Out (PC)
- Crossing Souls (PC)
- Darksiders Genesis (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Don’t Starve (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Final Fantasy VII (Console and PC)
- Train Sim World 2020 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Expect another announcement of incoming Xbox Game Pass titles for the rest of August as the middle of the month comes by. This is also when the next Xbox Game Studios title will reach the service on day one, that being Double Fine's Psychonauts 2 on August 25.
