Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC is being expanded with another release, as Microsoft and 343 Industries today announced that Halo 2 Anniversary edition is being pushed out to the bundle a week from now on May 12.
This version of the award-winning shooter arrives to the new platform after the recent Insider testing session. As such, PC players will be able to enjoy the original 2004 Halo 2 experience, which arrived to the platform in 2007, as well as the Anniversary high-definition remastered edition that launched in 2014, which has been exclusive to Xbox One until now, in one package.
Just like Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary, players can instantly switch between the two versions while playing in this release. Alongside the story campaign, the full multiplayer experience is included too, as well as official Theater support for the title, a first for the PC collection.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection owners across Steam and Microsoft Store will be able to begin their Halo 2 Anniversary journey on May 12. Aside from the bundle, the game will be available as a standalone purchase on the same platforms for $9.99. Finally, Xbox Game Pass for PC subscribers will gain access to the title on day one as well.
