343 Industries has kicked off the Insider testing phase of Halo 3 on PC as the Bungie-developed game is being prepared to launch on the platform for the first time through the Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Halo Insiders who got selected to participate should now have an email from HaloWaypoint waiting for them with links and detailed instructions on how to access the latest flight via either the Microsoft Store or Steam.
Flight details have been revealed previously, but to summarize, the slice that Insiders have access to now contain five campaign missions, 12 multiplayer maps, updated customizations, Forge, Theater, and the new Challenges feature. The test will only have its doors open for a week, though we could see extensions or more flights arriving later. Those interested in signing up for a chance at previewing and giving feedback on upcoming Halo games and features can do so through the Halo Insider portal here.

With Halo: Reach, Halo Combat Evolved: Anniversary, and Halo 2: Anniversary releases out of the way, only Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4 PC versions remain as experiences yet to arrive at the platform's Master Chief Collection.
Microsoft also confirmed recently that Halo: the Master Chief Collection on Xbox One and PC would finally be getting Halo 3: ODST Firefight, the cooperative mode that has been missing from the collection since its launch six years ago, later this summer.
