Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC is getting another injection of Halo next week, with 343 Industries today announcing that Halo 3: ODST is incoming to the platform on September 22.
The Bungie-developed shooter originally released to the Xbox 360 back in 2009, also on September 22, which was followed up by an Xbox One re-release in 2015 as part of its Master Chief Collection. However, with the latest launch, 343 Industries is now re-implementing the missing Firefight mode into Halo 3: ODST on both Xbox One and PC.
The Halo 3: ODST campaign does not follow Master Chief, instead it focuses on Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODST) in the ruined city of New Mombasa during the events of Halo 2. The storyline and the Firefight modes are playable in co-op with up to four players.
The PC version of the upcoming title went through extensive testing on the Halo Insider program during August, while also looking at hit registration changes to Halo 3 - which released only a couple of months ago on PC -, new customization options, and more. These changes should land alongside ODST when it launches next week.
Once Halo 3: ODST launches on September 22, it will be available to Halo: The Master Chief Collection owners across Steam and Microsoft Store, as well as Xbox Game Pass members. A standalone purchase option will be available on the two aforementioned stores as well.
