Microsoft and its internal game developer 343 Industries are still working hard on Halo 4, the next game in the Xbox 360 exclusive shooter series. Today, the Halo Waypoint website announced that Microsoft will offer a limited edition version of Halo 4, which will sell for $99.99.
The Limited Edition will allow players to download three post-launch maps packs for Halo 4 for free, along with a way to unlock six of the game's "Specializations" early. Microsoft says they will reveal more information on Specializations at E3 in June. There will also be a number of Xbox Live-based content unlocked for users, including a "unique in-game Spartan-IV armor skin, unique in-game weapon skin for the Assault Rifle, an exclusive in-game emblem, Xbox LIVE Avatar prop, and Xbox LIVE Avatar Spartan IV armor set."
In addition, the Limited Edition will include the UNSC Infinity Briefing Packet which goes into more detail about the fictional lore of the Halo universe. Finally, it will have a extended, 90 minute version of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, the live action Halo film project that was announced a few weeks ago.
For those of you who can only afford the $59.99 regular edition of Halo 4, Microsoft has now released a wallpaper image of the regular Halo 4 box art, which you can see below this post. The game is due for release on November 6th.
