Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC has expanded to include the highly-anticipated second release of the bundle. Today, Microsoft and 343 Industries surprise-released Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary edition on the platform. 343 concluded its most recent Insider test for this title just last week, and it seems Master Chief is ready for action.
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is the 2011 remake of the original Halo from 2001, bringing in updated graphics, audio, as well as support for online cooperative play, among other features. The title also supports the ability to switch between the original and Anniversary edition's updated graphics and audio while playing.
Just like Reach on PC, Combat Evolved Anniversary lands with enhanced features for the PC platform absent in the consoles, including support for high frame rates, up to 4K resolution, ultrawide monitors, FOV adjustments, keyboard and mouse controls remapping, and more.
Here are the minimum requirements according to the Steam listing:
- OS: Windows 7
- Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 960T or Intel i3550
- Graphics: AMD HD 6850 or NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450
- DirectX: Version 11
- Storage: 20 GB available space
- Additional Notes: Direct3D feature Level 11.1
Halo: The Master Chief Collection owners on PC across Steam and Microsoft Store should now see Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary in their library. The game is also available as standalone purchases on those platforms for $9.99. Xbox Game Pass for PC subscribers now have access as well.
